Professor John Lynch visits the ICEH

Professor Lynch and the ICEH team

John Lynch, the distinguished epidemiologist from University of Adelaide, visited the ICEH today. During the visit, we had the opportunity to discuss ongoing research and possible collaboration between the ICEH and Professor Lynch's group in Australia.

Internationally recognized by his contribution to public health and epidemiology, Professor Lynch’s current main interest lies on interventions to reduce inequalities in child development and cognition. In 2014, he was listed by Thomson Reuters as one of the “world’s most cited researchers” placing him in the top 1% of cited scientists in his field.

In his visit to the Federal University of Pelotas, Professor Lynch gave the inaugural lecture of the Post-graduate Program in Epidemiology for the class of 2015. He also presented details of his latest research – how to analyse observational studies as if they were a RCT – to the program’s PhD students.
