The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) 2022

The SOFI 2022 was launched last Wednesday, 06 Jul 2022. It is an annual report prepared by FAO, IFAD, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO to inform on progress towards ending hunger, achieving food security and improving nutrition; and to provide an in-depth analysis of key challenges for achieving this goal in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This year's theme is "Repurposing food and agricultural policies to make healthy diets more affordable". The report is intended for a wide audience, including policymakers, international organizations, academic institutions, and the general public.

The International Center for Equity in Health provided data on anemia and obesity in women aged 15-49 years and obesity in adults aged 20-49 years based on DHS surveys used for the inequality analysis presented in section 2.2 from chapter 2. In addition, the six global nutrition target indicators were summarized according to the place of residence, wealth, mother's/woman's education, and sex of the child using Equiplots graphs, which were based on R code adapted from the Equiplot Creator Tool.
